Muslim Women’s Organizing Institute

The Muslim Women’s Organizing Institute is a training cohort for individuals interested in organizing, community-building and advocacy.

Investing in Organizers

The Muslim Women’s Organizing Institute is a fellowship for Muslim women who are interested in building community with other organizers, advocates, and activists. We hold the institute over a 6 month period and integrate political education with skills-building workshops.

The curriculum is focused on 1) political education and mapping the roots of Islamophobia, 2) skills-based workshops that cover the nuts and bolts of base-building and organizing, 3) an introduction to using abolition and mutual aid as organizing tools, 4) healing justice and sustainability in movement spaces; and, 5) an introduction to resourcing and building infrastructure for movement work. In some cohorts, fellows take on an organizing project and depending upon funding, fellows are offered a stipend.
